Seeking Base of Operations in Virginia . . .
I need a shop in or around Berryville, Virginia. I don't have a lot to invest but we needn't see this condition as a deterrent to progress but rather as an opportunity to be creative.
I'm already performing major repairs in the field, so I certainly don't need anything fancy. Basically, I just need a place to lock up the F-350 service truck and to work on components brought in from the field (i.e. carburetors, transmissions, hydraulic pumps, engines, etc.). I don't really even need a workbench, as the tailgate of the OBT (Old Black Truck) provides an excellent one.
Dirt floor? Okay.
No phone or electricity available? The OBT has its own!
An old barn or shed?
An old run-down shop in town that looks like something out of a noir movie?
A place compatible with a wood stove would be nice, but not as important as lockability.
I would prefer a situation where I have the option of bartering tractor repair service for all or part of the rent. Though bartering arrangements tend to be vague and misunderstandings are frequent, I've put a system in place wherein the goods and services are given a specific agreed-upon cash value and much trouble is thus avoided. This arrangement has proven mutually beneficial many times in the past.
As with any business relationship, there will be times when we may not be in total agreement with one another; thus it is important that the shop be situated where I don't have to tromp through your environs in order to get to it--especially when we're giving each other some space.
Excellent local business and credit references available upon request. Serious inquiries only, please.
Great!
Cool!
